How to Install Your flatMATE Aura TPMS (And Why It Matters)

If you’re towing a caravan or pushing your 4WD through the outback, you already know that your tyres are the only thing keeping you on the road. A blowout isn't just a hassle; it's a "canon event" that can end your trip and drain your holiday budget.

That’s exactly why the flatMATE Aura TPMS exists. But the best tech in the world is useless if it's too complicated to use. We designed this system to be a true DIY safety upgrade. No auto-electrician, no complex wiring, no workshop fees.

Here is the exact step-by-step breakdown from our latest video guide to get your rig protected in minutes.

(Watch the full video tutorial here: https://youtu.be/su6kPlxZyAg)

1. Power Up and Personalise your TPMS

The display unit is solar-powered (with a Micro-USB backup option), meaning it sits cleanly on your dash without cluttering your cabin with cords.

  • Turn it on: Just hit the minus (-) button on the top. (If it's brand new, you'll see small dashes until the sensors connect).

  • Set your limits: Hold down the 'Set' button until the screen flashes. Using the (+) and (-) buttons, you can toggle through and set your exact high-pressure, low-pressure, and high-temperature alerts. You are in total control of what parameters trigger an alert for your specific load.

2. The 60-Second Install (No Mechanic Required)

Each sensor is clearly marked for its specific wheel (e.g., "R-F" for Right-Front, "L-R" for Left-Rear). With a massive 20 to 25-metre range, you don't even need a signal booster to reach the back of your caravan.

  • Remove your standard dust cap.

  • Screw on the provided anti-theft nut.

  • Screw the flatMATE sensor tightly onto the valve.

  • Use the provided metal wrench to tighten the anti-theft nut back against the sensor to lock it securely in place.

Pro Tip: Once tightened, spray a little soapy water on the sensor. No bubbles? You've got a perfect, leak-proof seal.

3. The "Pull Over" Protocol

Once synced, your display will show a solid, bright read-out of your real-time pressures and temperatures.

But here is the absolute most important part of the system: The Alarm. If you ever hear that sharp, continuous beeping noise—the one that triggers the flashing neon "PULL OVER" warning in our video—do exactly that. That alarm means the system has detected a rapid pressure drop, a slow leak, or a critical temperature spike. It is literally the sound of a blowout being prevented. Pull over immediately and check your tyres.

Ready for the Road

It is that simple. Under 5 minutes to protect your setup, optimise your fuel economy, and maximise your kilometres.
