What kind of batteries do the sensors use?
Flatmate sensors use standard CR1632 button batteries, which are cheap and available at almost any supermarket or hardware store.
How long do sensor batteries last?
Depending on how much you drive, Flatmate sensor batteries typically last between 12 to 24 months before needing a simple swap.
How do I know when the battery is flat?
The Flatmate dashboard unit will display a low-battery icon for the specific sensor that needs replacing.
Can I replace the battery myself?
Yes, every Flatmate kit includes a simple tool to twist off the sensor cap and drop in a new battery in seconds.
Are the sensors waterproof?
Yes, Flatmate sensors boast a high IP rating, meaning they are sealed against heavy rain, mud, and outback puddles.
Do external sensors leak air?
No, Flatmate sensors are designed with a premium internal O-ring that locks air in completely.
What if I lose a sensor?
You don’t need to buy a whole new kit. Flatmate offers individual replacement sensors that easily sync to your existing display.
Internal vs External sensors: which is better?
External is far more convenient. Flatmate external sensors save you hundreds in fitting costs and let you change batteries yourself.
Will the sensors corrode onto my valves?
Flatmate uses anti-corrosive threading, but we always recommend a tiny dab of anti-seize paste if you are driving in salty environments.
