How hard is it to install a TPMS?
It takes less than five minutes. Flatmate’s external sensors simply screw onto your existing tyre valves—no tools or tyre removal required.
Do I need a mechanic to install it?
Not at all. The Flatmate system is 100% DIY, saving you the installation fees associated with internal sensor kits.
Do the sensors need balancing?
Flatmate external sensors are incredibly lightweight (under 10 grams) and rarely require wheel re-balancing on standard 4WD or passenger
How do I pair the sensors?
Flatmate sensors come pre-paired from the factory. You just turn on the display, screw on the caps, and you are ready to drive
Can someone steal my external sensors?
Flatmate includes an anti-theft locking nut system that requires a specific wrench to remove, keeping your sensors safe while parked.
How do I set the baseline pressure?
It is simple to adjust via the menu buttons on the Flatmate display, allowing you to set custom high and low-pressure thresholds.
Can I switch the sensors between different cars?
Yes, Flatmate is fully portable. You can unscrew them from your daily driver and put them on your weekend 4WD in minutes.
Do I need special tyre valves?
Standard rubber valves work fine, though metal valves are recommended for heavy-duty off-roading with any TPMS, including Flatmate.
